Yup, that's right. I'm trying to get a new turbo for the C, you know how it is..always want to squeeze out that last bit of power outta your car.
It's a Garrett hybrid turbo with Stage 3 T3 turbine with .48 AR. On the compressor side, I have a T04B Super S. According to Turbonetics, this turbo should hold well over 350hp. This unit has internal wastegate, meaning you don't have to go through the trouble custom fab your exhaust manifold to fit the external wastegate, also you will save another few hundred $$$.
Of course, the catch is that it's a ceramic ball bearing turbo..for full explaination you can visit Turbonetics' page
CBB combined with T3/T4 setup means it's the most suitable for street use and course racing. If you plan on only doing 1/4 mile drag everyday, this is not the turbo for you. If you don't mind lag and want to run out of your engine before turbo starts to spool up, this is not the turbo for you. If you have a big 6 cylinder engine or big V8, this is too small for you.
Of course, you would like to know how much I want it for. 500 miles ago, I bought it brand new for $1400, YES, $1400. If I had not added the ball bearing option, I would only have to pay around $750. This new turbo I'm getting, I will probably need to fork out $1600 if I want to keep on using ball bearing option, $950 if I just don't care for the lag and don't mind downshifting every time I need to get the car going.
My asking price is $1100. I will try to post on Swedespeed first then on other sites later. Let me know if you are interested. [email protected]
