Sorry if this shows up twice, I posted earlier and it didn't show up.
The top speed on my 97R stock was limited to 250 kmh (155 mph). After my mods, with no top speed limiter I saw 274 kmh (170 mph). It pulled smoothly right up to the last few kmh's. The speedo was pointed straight down.
My friend held a Magellen GPS unit for the tests on a deserted Arizona road. Man these cars are geared high!

Any other AZ Volvo fans on this board?

WOW! How many miles on that odometer, and that car is still going 162. That's great to see, I have an 850t5, with the pes chip, i have gone 130, and it is not even straining.

Cool pics, I wish I had the forthought to take some. I see your boost has tapered off or is that as high as it goes? Isn't it cool to have a 4 door sedan/wagon that can do 150+?

How are you liking the PES chip?

I love it... I was debating between that chip, the Eastern Aerospace upgrade, and the IPD Chip. I found out that the IPD Chip was required with a whole new $1000 exhaust system, to give you 53 hp. The PES Chip gives me 40 extra, while only having to spend $650. So that would be about 260 hp. I also added a KN filter, the torque converter from eastern aerospace, and the big bore exhaust TIP from IPD. I love the way the car is right now, I was debating a NOS kit, but I heard horror stories about how the longevity and stability of the engine gets effected. Well, I'm thinking about 275 hp at the wheels... I'll get it dyno'ed this weekend, and I'll have some formal results.

As for the PES Chip, it's great, I have noticed I don't have to get on the car that much, because of the extra power, and by doing that, I've saved some gas $$. Especially with these rising prices.

Regarding the PES chip. Are you having any problems with smog checks? What boost patterns are you getting since the upgrade?
I'm just wondering since here in California they are anal about smog checks!!
Any one in California with a chip upgrade please respond.

Well,

I live in South FL, I haven't any problems with smog checks, to tell you the truth, I don't think they even exist down here.

here's a pretty cool story,

last night i was driving along sawgrass exwy, i was playing with a mustang 5.0 for about 20 miles. We got to a toll, put in the money, and when our lights turned green, we just flew out of there. He had an edge on me up to about 20, then from 25 til 90 he just got his a$$ kicked! I laid off at around 103. From then on, he laid low, and didn't even try to pass me.

I'm pretty sure that when he got behind me, and saw VOLVO, he wasn't feelin too hot.
