I have a 2004 S60 with 122k and the suspension has become teeth chattering over bumps. Put it on my lift and saw that the upper strut mounting plate on the driver's side had failed. So I decided to do a complete suspension overhaul ordered 2 new mounts, xc90 spring seats, new control arms, ball joints and rear HD end links. Didn't buy struts because they were replaced at 95k along with front end links. I installed everything at my shop with my mechanic and took it home. Now that I have been driving a little bit I feel that the car is no better. I have to brace for impact going over bumps and I feel every imperfection in the road. I need to know what could be causing this. Everything is brand new.
Any help is much appreciated
-Steve

Re: (Bender)

Car is not lowered and I put in Monroe struts because that was all my local parts store had.

Replace the struts with OEM or something else.
Why in the world didn't you install new spring seats at that time?

I guess it didn't dawn at me at the time. So I am guessing the struts are sh*t. What do you guys think of Koni FSD I can get a set for 500 are they worth it? Everyone has there mixed opinions on them. Would like to hear JRLs take on them.
-Steve

I like my FSD's, but the whole setup is firmer and a little louder than OEM. They are tough on spring seats.
There are very mixed opinions on the FSD's.
Bob S. 01 S60

Never drove a P2 with them, in a GEN they're too stiff for me
Koni cut a strut works well, takes a bit more for the install, but are nice when done

I would say for a DD its a good balance between comfort/handling. Alot of the "M" guys run them.

Actually, Koni FSD's are a "Cut-a-strut" installation. It is possible to make a HUGE mistake if you do it yourself. Here's how I know!
http://forums.turbobricks.com/...08200
Sorry to post the other guy's link, but it's been awhile.
Bob S.
