Hey everyone,

My first time posting but I've followed them for a while. Anyways, I'm wondering if anyone has experienced difficulties with their sunroof. On several different occasions I've had difficulty opening my sunroof. Sometimes it just won't open. However, after I let the car sit a while and restart the engine it will work fine. Also, I'm wondering if anyone has found good xenon lights for their s60 and if there are any issues with the daytime running lights.

thanks

Hey,

Welcome to Swedespeed!

I don't know about the sunroof issue, but the only problem I can see with the Xenon lights might be a 'Bulb Failure' warning message that might come on if you do the install. Doing the HID Xenon conversion in Japan is all-the-rage.

There are a ton of H3 options for HID. Make sure you get a good manufacturer like and the right color temperature that you want.

You can always have the DRL's de-activated, but there shouldn't be any issues if you do have them on all the time. The only problem with HID is that they do not like to be turned on and off repeatedly. It will reduce their life-span.

My wife's S80 headlamps had to be replaced two months ago because one had burned out. We've had the car 2 years, total mileage about 25,000. Hope they don't have to be replaced every 2 years . . . .

No problems at all with the sunroof.
(that's a private joke for the other readers who know me. . . .)

The fact that new D2R and D2S HID bulbs cost around $130 denaro's each doesn't help much either, but they do have a very long life-span of almost 3,000 hours. Most people say that they will out-live the persons car ownership, but I don't know if this applies to people with DRL's.

If I use my sunroof when the car is moving it seems to suck fumes into the passenger compartment ,I'm not sure if it is coming through the HVAC(I have the air quality system)or through the body vents. Now I'm not talking about fumes from other vehicles , but from my own.I'm assuming that the vaccuum created by the open roof sucks these fumes in.I'm hoping that most of these fumes will dissapate as the engine breaks in and the various production coatings on the engine and such burn off.BTW... I remember reading a thread by a guy that actually brought his car back to the dealer because it made his clothes stink...AND THEY GAVE HIM A NEW ONE! it made his clothes stink too
