My sun visor recently decided not to stay up on my 04 C70 HPT.
I read on-line this is common. I want to fix it right; but.... will an 850 or C/V70 unit fit? With the "C" not capable of moving to block the side window, I was thinking perhaps someone has tried another sun visor in the "C". I don't care about the mirror light.
Also, is there a way to open the visor up and fix what I think is probably a briken plastic spring cam?
Thanks!
Erik

Did they ever make a "HomeLink" model for the convertible?

Re: (mune237)

Yes, I have one in my 98 Coupe. I took it off an 03 Convertible I found on ebay a few years ago. However, I was never able to get the homelink to work. Wiring was sound, but it didn't want to capture my rolling garage code and work properly. Oh, well. At least it doesn't droop.

Turns out the other guy missed a step in the programming. I posted the full instructions in there, maybe that can help you too?
http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=123180

Re: (LloydDobler)

I got the one in my S60r to work. I needed to reprogram the garage door receiver. Once I did that it worked just fine. I still can't get the one in my Coupe to work. No matter how many times I go through the instructions it still does work. So I've given up.

Re: Sun Visor (MKC70)

KRC70 - What other sunvisors work?
Others I have looked at have 2 screws at the outside and pivot and 2 screws at the inside where the sun visor is stored.
The C70 convertables only have one screw at each end.
Thanks for the help!
Erik

ok so .... its only C70 sun visiors will work
the 850 , S70 and V70 where the mounts are , are totally different along with size and shape of the visor are different .
Now that being said you can just screw them right in place but its not pretty

Re: (Chilled Man)

I called the local Volvo dealer here in New Orleans - the sun visors are $191.53 each with a 2 - 4 day lead time.
The new cost is better than I thought; but I am still extremely disappointed with the quality.
I am afraid of buying used ones since these are so prone to failing. It is a shame Volvo made these different.
I post this just as an FYI and do not support this or any other dealer.

Any idea of the size of socket needed? I have tried using my home set of sockets but tried using 10mm but it seems as though the hole for the mounting bracket is kinda tight so i can't get the socket deep enough to reach the head of the nut. Any suggestions or should I just rip it out?!?!? But if I do that then how do I get my replacement back in because the replacements won't let my socket get deep enough. HELP!!?!?!?!?
