After replacing the eilbach with the original springs I wanted to have my sum updated and the headlights recalibrated. The dealer told me he could not get contact with the sum unit. This was allready the case in the previous situation with the eilbach springs, but nothing has changed. The dealer suggested to replace the whel sum unit, They could not give me a price for the replacement nor the guarantee that this would solve the problem.

Anyhow I am not so happy with this. Any ideas or suggestions?

Re: sum problem (RdriveR)

Sometimes lowering springs causes the system to not interact with the SUM.
Have the dealer jack up the rear end about an inch or two and try to communicate again with the rear jacked slightly up
This seems to cure the problem most of the time if everything else is OK

hmmm... I would jack the body to raise the points (sensors) closer to the stock setting. Don't raise the axel becasue you won't accomplish what your after. A little reverse engineering per sey.

BTW this is exactly what JRL is trying to communicate, but you have to read between the lines with his post.

He said the springs are the original Volvo stock springs. How much closer to stock ride height can he get?
