Gunmetal 17" Cratos from a C70:

18" Mirzam from a P1 C70 (spacers or boring out center required):

17" Saab double Y from a 9-3 (One of my favorite OEM wheel designs)

If you want cheap, easy to find wheels that are "different" on a Volvo I would suggest finding some Saab wheels. I got a lot of compliments when I had them on my car.

Here we go with the duplicolor swatches:

I'm fairly sold on graphite because you pretty much have to be in our community already to notice that is isn't quite an oem color.

Sleeper level acceptable.

If i was 16 I'd almost certainly do my winter six spokes in white because stormtrooper.

Any experience with these wheel paints? Higher ruggedness for Montréal's apocalyptic salt and cold levels, along with gravel, wide temperature variations and occasional space debris impact means going full retard is an option I'm considering.

I've used a bunch of different duplicolor paints on my car and they're excellent. They're pricey, yes, but they mix easily, lay down very consistently and the coverage is excellent.

For wheels, whatever color you do, use lots of clear coat. That will make them much easier to clean and the finish will hold up better to road debris as well

very interesting, is it the same bolt pattern?
Close, but close enough to work! Volvo is 5 x 108 and Saab is 5 x 110 bolt pattern. The bolt holes on the saab wheels will not be perfectly centered in the Volvo hub bolt holes, but it's still good enough to tighten down and be safe. The hub diameter is the same. That's really important. I drove thousands of miles with Saab wheels and had no issues.

Lol... no. I'll be using correctly-sized Continental PureContact all-season grand touring tires. I might actually go with 18" if the sidewalls don't end up too short and hard. Still considering the options.

Edit: I found what I think would be the perfect wheels for this car if you want 18's. Bremmer Kraft BR14. They come in either silver or bronze. Admittedly, the bronze color will look best on a darker-colored car. I'm considering getting a set because I'll be changing the car's color from silver to dark purple, and the bronze ones could look really good. Edit 2: Here they are on an Audi. https://www.tirerack.com/images/media_gallery/bremmer_kraft/17_a4_quattro_br14_19.png
