I took the R out after a few weeks of sitting and it drove like crap. I got about 2500 miles until the next service but figured it needed an oil change. After that I got it out on the interstate and just gave it a nice cruise. Things began to improve almost instantly. After a few good miles I turned around and started to try and figure out what had happened. Did my oil just turn to sludge after sitting? I did a few runs at WOT in 4th around 3200 RPM and 58 mph I started getting a Pffffteeeeewww RRRRRRR Pfffffttttteeewwwww. I then was able to recreate the sound at all speeds with just the WOT and 3200 RPM. I am not happy. I have no mods, and have never had an issue. I would like to fix this all myself, so I can save money for my IPD shopping cart. I have been reading the other threads on this, but there seems to be a wide array of causes and fixes. Any ideas?

What's your mileage??
Fuel filter made a big difference for me when I had a stuttering problem. Also you may want to replace the plugs, just did mine and the car runs much much better.

Re: Stutter (MancUnited1)

Around 60K I think. I will need to check in the morning. Filter is a good idea. Sitting for a month would allow for a build up of sediment in the tank and lines. Lord knows what kind of crap occurs to the metal inside an engine as it sits for long periods of time.
