Stupid B5244T5 questions because conflicting info

Let's say I want to drop in a '06-09 2.4 turbo engine in a S60R.

Is the head different? (Do I need to swap S60R head off or can I use the whole longblock as-is) I am aware of the oil pan issues, but I have heard both ways that the 2.4 T5 has the same head as the 2.5 T4, and that it has the same head as the older 2.4/2.5 turbo engines.

Will the stock tune handle the small change in displacement without too much drama? (No infuriating P0101 or other airflow related issues)

I am looking into an 81mm bore block swap. I want to get the swap done as quickly as possible so pulling the head is not high on my want to do list, because if I pull it I'm going to want to send it out to have the valves cut and the deck skimmed. I also do NOT want any kind of aftermarket tune because I have zero faith in any aftermarket tune to be more than a dyno-queen numbers tune. I want to be able to bolt the throttle down and tow a trailer up a mountain, or do 20 minute HPDE sessions, without worry.

All the info I have seen is about big power builds, I'm not interested in that at all. 300hp/300ft-lb is plenty. The bump in compression would, I assume, also make fuel economy a bit btter and quicken the turbo spool.

I cannot help you for all of those questions, as I am tuned, but my B5244T5 swapped vR is using the B5244T5 head just fine!

So the t5 engine just magically puts out 300 horses with an R ecu?

Cylinder head is same.

It will work with current tune and fuel trims will adjust the fueling to be correct (less displacement).

If you’re talking about compression ratio then that would be the same as R engine at 8.5:1. If anything, it will be less snappy and responsive down low compared to larger displacement.

Engine install nearly complete. Have been running into odd SNAFUs.

The crankcase breather box is different. The hose to the valve cover comes out in a different spot. I was able to use an S60R valve cover hose with the 2.4 breather box but it's a bit of a stretch.

The turbo is identical in part number. The intake manifold, however, is "technically" different but the same casting number. There's a boss that is drilled on the P2R intake that is not drilled on the 2.4t intake.

The big thing, though, that required me to remove the engine again, is that I didn't realize that the flexplates are transmission-specific. The 2.4 flexplate will not work in a P2R if you have a TF80 trans, the bolt holes for the torque converter are the wrong size. You could drill them out, but then the bolt heads would be tightening against a raised stamping boss.
