I have an 87 Volvo 740(non-turbo) with 200k miles on it. It starts and idles great, but sometimes it has a problem accelerating. It acts just like it has a plugged fuel filter. If you back off it will accelerate gradually though. To date, I have replaced both fuel pumps/filters, fuel regulator, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I have also added fuel system cleaner and water remover to the tank. The tank has not been drained. Since the problem is intermittent, I really dread taking it to the dealer to have them start r/r at $80/hour which I have already done a fair share of myself, obviously! I am getting desperate, any ideas?
