Re: Strut Bars on sale! (EuroSport Tuning)

I think you mean S40 V50.
Talk about hot. It is 107F today in Dallas. Aquamist sure looks good now.

How adjustable is the tension? From the image, it seems to be only bolts on the end that pivot.
The only gripe I have about the stock one (besides that it's not much to look at) is that it's not adjustable.
Thanks!

Re: (volvos40t5)

I'm just regurgitating what I read, then my experience:
Nominally, the strut tower brace might stiffen the front of the car a bit. This stiffening can make steering response sharper.
Also, I've heard that some people like this brace not for sport handling, but for better wear and tear. The brace helps distribute the forces in turns to both strut towers. These pieces of metal bend. Distributing the load helps to avoid warping and heating.
I have heard that these strut braces are most effective when they have a triangulation connection to the firewall between engine and front cockpit. The bars from EurosportTuning and from Volvo do not have this extra connection.
From my own experience:
It was really easy to install.
It MAY have sharpened the steering SLIGHTLY. But really, I don't think I actually felt anything.

There is a lot of clearance between the strut bar and the stock intake pipe.
