Strange thing happened with downshift - update

Today when going on the off ramp in advanced mode and giving a bit more throttle, the GT was trying to downshift but for some reason it seemed as if it could not find the lower gear for probably 5 seconds or so. The boost dropped to next to nothing and it wasn't responding to the pedal, almost like limp mode. it recovered and acted normal later, but it gave me a pretty good scare. I could have sworn there was a funky smell right when this happened.
It has been having difficulty engaging into gear especially when cornering, kind of not finding it and then suddenly kicking in.
Further info: it's a 2004 GT CPO car with 80 k miles, well warmed up after one hour of driving Last transmission fluid flush and oil change were done at 73 k. No mods installed.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

That's a good one. Believe me, it's been thoroughly worked already..

Re: Strange thing happened with downshift (Needsdecaf)

I think it was done before I bought the car 1 year ago, but I will bring it in and have them double check. There is no mention of it on the vehicle history report.
Do you think something like this would generate an error code? It would help troubleshooting at the dealership if it did.
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it.

I don't think trannie issues will generate error codes, but I could be wrong.
As for your issue, I agree with JRL (*gasp* ) , get that thing in under CPO pronto!

Similar thing happened to me today. It's the first really warm day my R has seen this year, and the first really warm day it's seen since I tuned it.
I had been driving in my usual spirited fashion, sport/sport, and as I was going down my road, the transmission didn't seem to want to upshift. After waiting for it to shift, I finally threw it in GT mode and shifted "manually" from 2nd to 3rd. It shifted correctly and haven't had a problem since. Let the car sit 3-4 hours, took it out again, and all is well. Now, the GT does have a mind of it's own when in sport(performance) mode, it'll shift whenever it damn well feels like it, even at low speeds, but it felt far more sluggish than normal, just for a few seconds. Of course, I figure my car is responding to the heat soak even more since I'm running a somewhat aggressive tune (more hot air = more poopy performance?).
I'll drive around a bit tomorrow to see if it's still being temperamental.

Re: (m3nt0s)

It's done exactly that too in my case, but that was two months ago when the weather was still cool and while running off a mall parking lot. Did you get the software update?
Today while driving in to work all was well, no problems.

Re: (Jobies)

Update:
The dealer has given me a cannot reproduce the last time it went in, and in the meantime the problem has become more severe and frequent, as in at least once a day.
Yesterday, accelerating from a traffic light into a right turn the RPMs dropped to idle and the upshift almost felt like I stomped on the brakes. Needless to say, it is going in again on Monday... They agreed to take the car home for a few days to reproduce it. I hope it will work out, and I'll update here once there's a verdict.

Re: (Jobies)

I'm surprised they didn't offer to try and fix it with the Blinker Fluid Reservoir Software Update. Not covered under CPO and only $199.95.

Re: (Jobies)

Suggest that they check for the coolant contamination in your trabs fluid. There is a TNN for that in the master list. Also, verify they have updated your trans software whether they can reproduce or not.

Update: Valve body appears to be the problem. Also: Transmission fluid was burned, ~10 k after flushing... Transmission will be replaced. Gotta love CPO.
P.s. anyone familiar with a B4 servo? Where is it located, and will it also be replaced with the transmission?
Thank you all and have a great holiday weekend!
