I just bought a 95 850 GLT wagon. The radio has a CD button, but i'm curious to know whether that's for some sort of CD chnager add-on. If so, where does it mount and where can one search for one plus all the necessary hardware. Also, if it's a factory changer, what is the lowdown on the quality of those?
TIA,
Pete

Re: Stock radio CD capable? (kfzmeister)

Yeah, it was a changer that mounted on the underside of the front flap of the cargo compartment in the wagon or somewhere in the trunk of the sedan IIRC. These OEM factory changers were made by Alpine as I recall and should be of good quality if you can find one. Ebay? Check this one out:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...A1318

Thanks, still not sure where it mounted, but you've pointed me in the right direction!

Open the rear hatch. Look at the floor. There are two storage area doors on the floor. One forward, one rear. The CD changer mounted with a bracket to the underside of the forward door. You will see pre-drilled and threaded holes for the brackets.
edit: no useful cargo space taken up in this location.

Will the same brackets work in the cargo area as in your current location? How about wiring? Is vehicle prewired?
