Flash back to the year 2003. Knowing what you now know having experienced the R (good and bad things) for the amount of time you've owned yours, would you purchase an R brand new from the factory (and again, for the original owners)?

Re: Still like your R? (juve021)

I love the R, smell of my leather, blue stitching, handling, comfort.. even the speed. I bought the car for what it is an S60R. That being said when I start having failures I am going to ditch this POS

I no longer love this R , perhaps if I didn't ahve so many issues with it and it were faster and came with a little more for the money!
I do love the fact that it is a Rare car and a good looking caR at that, only the cons outweigh the pros in my case, sorry guys! When I can afford to I will be getting rid of it!

It Rocks! I don't see it as a great 0-60/racing machine cuz I tend to baby my clutch but it absolutely shines on the interstate. A license revocation wating to happen.

Probably one of the best all around cars for enjoyment, as well as comfort on long trips.

Well I replied with love everything about the car but I did wish I didn't feel like I had to walk on egg shells with it all the time. I feel like im just passing the time before BOOM and im broke in one glorious second. No problems yet though (knock on wood)

Just miss the build quality of my Audi....but the car is what it is. A safe car for my family that allows me to play teenager when i am all alone.
Best of both worlds.

I had an '88 Audi 90 and a '96 A4 and I wouldn't say they had great build quality. Maybe it was just those models or something.

I still love it. Just nervous about soooo many expensive things that most likely will fail on it in the coming months.....

Re: Still like your R? (cklabr)

I love this car and every Volvo we have had, I love to spank the youth of America with the car and I love historical life span of Volvo cars (properly maintained of course), so much so when I bought my R she had 95,000 on her to start with. This is a car I will keep even if the engine let go. I love it to the point of buying/building a new engine if needed. In short (Too late) she is a keeper!

Although, because it tries to be both, it really isn't either. Too small to be a real family car (2 kids can last in back seat for no more than an hour) and it isn't a real burner. But it does both pretty good.

I love the R and its reliability is awsome when comparing to my previous VW which broke every single week. So far only ignition lock cylinder went.

I'm a Volvo fan, have owned several that are 2000-newer and haven't had any major problems, despite having 150k+ miles on them. Just have to keep them properly maintained and everything will be fine. I don't expect any problems from my R(and really haven't had any major problems). I just enjoy it for what it is.
