Stereo Randomly Shuttuing Off?

Have anyone experienced their stereo and DVD navigation shutting off while driving and then coming right back on?<p>I'll be listening to the stereo and all of a sudden the stereo just shuts off - if I'm listening to a CD it shuts off and continues playing where it left off.<p>I'm also having some disk reading errors on the Nav system - and the DVD's are spotless....<p>Any insight would be appreciated.

This happens to my XC90 from time to time... usually just after starting and for the 3 to 5 minutes afterward: turns itself on, then off; if I turn it off it turns itself back on... then off... etc. etc... who knows what's going on... The local Volvo store (no complaints at all with the service I've received in 46,000 miles) is baffled. <p>RNB <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/zeroforum_graphics/screwy.gif" BORDER="0"> <p>2004 5 cyl 7 passenger AWD, no Nav system, 46,000 miles in 19 months. Excellent and troublefree car.

Happened to my lemoned 03 along with other stuff "rebooting." <br>May be symptoms of something more serious... keep us posted.

Happened to me too, then it got worse and wouldn't eject the loaded cd's from inside the front dashboard. Ended up with system being replaced - another day of car going to garage overnight, the broken system (and my cd's) had to be sent to Sweden, after 8mths I've still not had my cd's back.<p>The car is a great concept, however Volvo's ability to to support it has appauled me, the impression I get is that they created something that is beyond the capabilities of the local dealers. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vortexmediagroup.com/images/banghead.gif" BORDER="0"> <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vortexmediagroup.com/images/banghead.gif" BORDER="0"> <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vortexmediagroup.com/images/banghead.gif" BORDER="0"> <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vortexmediagroup.com/images/banghead.gif" BORDER="0">

SOLUTION FOUND<p>I ended up taking the Volvo to the shop and they ended up upgrading the "software" for the audio and car in general. The also had to give me a new DVD for the navigation. After the software upgrade, all is fine.
