Will the stereo controls on the steering wheel work with an after market stereo?

Ken,
The stereo controls will definitely not work with an aftermarket stereo setup. The steering wheel controls are part of the CAN BUS network that is in the S60, that is very complicated. Unless you or someone you know is an expert in electronics and CAN BUS technology, trying to wire that setup would be very difficult.
-Drew

Ken,
You can get a 10-disc CD changer for the all of the S60 audio systems. If you get the HU-613 system you can have a total of 10 + 1 = 11 disc capacity and if you get the AudioMax HU-803 system you can have a total of 10 + 4 = 14 disc capacity.
Check out the Volvo Audio Brochure below, it has everything you would ever want to know about the audio systems. It is in PDF format, so you will need Adobe Acrobat to open it:
Volvo PDF Audio Brochure

-Drew

Also be aware that the cost of having the genuine Volvo 10-disc changer installed by your friendly Volvo dealer, with the official Volvo nameplate emblazoned on top of the unit, is outrageously, exorbitantly high. I'm too embarrassed about what I paid to even tell you. Our salesperson told us we could save lots of money getting third-party audio equipment. Then I learned about the need to download Volvo codes so the stereo would recognize the new device. I complained about this---if I knew at time of delivery that I was forced into this purchase, I could have had the unit installed before delivery so it would be covered by the 4-year warranty. Now I have just one year. Pressing this point got me about $150 off normal price. Still outrageously expensive. I'd also been told the care was pre-wired for the 10-disc changer; not so. A large part of the high installation charge is labor for wiring the car to have the changer in the back left side of the trunk.
HW

So what is the invoice cost of the cd changer upgrade in a 2.4T if I were to order it along with the car?

Does everyone knows if the audio commands on steering wheel can be installed after delivery? Are those pre-wired so all I have to do is install buttons?
Thanks,
Giuseppe
