This is normal. It’s because your hand is off the wheel. The car is visually prompting you to put your hand back on the wheel. Happens at any speed on my car after you let go the wheel for a little while. In fact both my cars do this. It’s the same sequence when PA kicks off because it can not “see”.

It’s being suggested this is not normal or a problem?

 

The steering wheel definitely vibrates when it kicks off, but I guess I haven't noticed if it visibly shakes. It doesn't shake when my hand is off of the wheel and I'm going 70+mph from what I've noticed.

 

My 2021 T8 only shakes (slightly, like A LOT less than yours) if I have my hands off the wheel for more than 10 seconds. Yours seems exaggerated and too early. I'd take it in for a fix.

 

Mine shakes as well at low speed only, when coming to stop. However, no shaking as yours when not holding the steering wheel at higher speeds.

My guess it's software related to force you hold the steering wheel.

I had the same thing on my V60 CC. Pronounced steering shake with PA but only at 50-60mph. Service manager informed me there was a TJ for this and they were working on a software fix. I took my car back in in early Dec (I think that's when the fix was issued), they applied the fix and now it's fine.

 

Nice. I'll have to make an appointment. Anyone have the TJ handy so I can reference it?

So what does it say? Your vibration of the wheel is 2-3x as much as mine.

 

That's a lane departure warning. Relax your hold and let the lane keeping work. Other vehicles vibrate the seat.

 

It's definitely not a lane departure warning. That vibrates the steering wheel, I know what that feels like. This is a visible shake. Look at the lane departure icon in my video, it doesn't change color.

 

Mine is steady, I have not seen anything like that (yet). And I agree, that is not the warning. The warning is very high frequency. That almost looks like feedback loop type of thing how it builds up.

 

Yeah that aint normal lol. There's no warning on the dash either

 

Yes the TJ I had applied was TJ 36015.

 

Brought it in today. They tried to convince me it was just warning me to put my hands back on the steering wheel, but luckily I had the video to show them and the TJ to apply.

Looks like they applied a Total Upgrade (31493704)
