Okay I've been thinking about replacing my cruise control switches and stereo controls with the ones from the 2007 cars. Anyone know if they are the same and will work?

For two pieces of trim? Forget it. Get some aluminum trim tape and stick it on. I'm betting that's all that they put on them anyway.

Sure why not? All they added was a little metal strip. Why not just do the mod like someone else did here on SS. Probably looks just as good at 0.01% of the price of new controls.

What they really need to do is add a Mode button and a Mute button right above the existing controls.

I agree, frank I wish they did have a freakin' Mode button. Doesn't make ANY sense why they don't.
Actually I think the switch parts would be under 100 bucks. I saw and bought the aluminum vinyl but it's a BIG pain to attach. I'd rather buy the 100 dollar parts and just swap em'.

Why put them on the right side, when your right hand is so close to the radio?
My Pathfinder has 'em on the left side and they're much more convenient. How often is your left side actually off the wheel when you drive?

My right hand is usually not even on the steering wheel, but resting on the shifter. I think only the Japanese can think up a mute button. hahahaha
I think the wheel was designed to right hand drive cars. Which side do they drive on in Sweeden?

Probably, possibly. They're only switches and if they are the same on the innerds I don't see why not

...if you'd really rather spend the money ... JRL is probably correct. They wouldn't tool up completely new switches just to add a piece of trim (not to mention change the steering wheel or the aribag tools which would be very cost prohibitive from an OEM standpoint). So assuming the "hole" the switches go into are the same size, the only question left is "can you purchase the switches without purchasing an entire airbag assembly"??? I would have to guess "yes" to that.
