In my perpetual mission to clear all my trouble codes and issues (P0026, P0027, Brake Assist Service Required, all corrected and counting...) all I've got left is TPMS Sys Service Required (or something like that), Engine System Service Required, and Anti-Skid Temporarily Off. Anti-skid is what I'm tackling next. The current message seems to have taken the place of "Anti-Skid Service Required" that used to be there, but that disappeared today when I replaced the Brake Pedal Position Sensor. I changed that because my cruise control wouldn't activate, and changing that part got rid of the Anti-Skid message and the Brake Assist message.
Ok, so... While I was doing research on the original Anti-Skid Service Required" message I read on here and a few other places that the Steering Wheel Angle Sensor is a likely culprit. I also read that pulling it and cleaning it might be a good option, so I will try that before sourcing a new sensor.
That being said... What am I missing about all of this? I found the part here at FCP Euro... Pricey. But I noted the part number (31313083) and plugged that into eBay. Came up with this. Seems cheap. My 2.5T isn't listed on the compatibility chart but in the description it does say "2007 Volvo S60 2.5T, R, T5 2.4L L5 - Gas, 2.5L L5 - Gas " The correct part number is listed there. It's specified for cars with DSTC (which mine does) but it also says "without angle sensor." What's the deal with that? Is the angle sensor a separate, removable component?
This one is also affordable, but doesn't mention anything about the angle sensor. The two listings look identical.
Thoughts? Opinions?
