After a brief drive to work this morning I noticed a ton of steam pouring out of my grille while idling in my parking spot. The roads were wet from rain so I'm thinking it was just some road spray burning off..but the steam came out for a while and there was a lot of it. It looked like my car was overheating badly. My girlfriend had to take the car to school so I told her to keep an eye on the temp gauge. The gauge never passed 1/2 way and she told me the steam stopped after she reached school. The car just turned 4,000 miles and I've had some problems with it..like replacing the power steering pump..Any ideas?

Wow, that is really bad. If you think anything is wrong with your car, you should immediately pull over and stop the engine. Be sure to check the resevoir http://apps.volvocars.us/owner...pg150 and make sure it is not low. In any case, bring it back to the dealer and tell them.

Relax. The same thing you will get after a visit ot a car wash

If you are worried, chceck the level of coolant and monitor engine temp on the dashboard. If everything is ok, then dont worry.
Keep in mind that V50 is loaded with all kinds of sensors, so if the coolant level is too low, your car would have told you about it
