Went to move my 01 V70 XC yesterday and much to my surprise it stalled out. After a bit I managed to get it started and got it into the garage. Half the time now it starts and drives fine, the other half of the time it just dies. If you get it to start and idle after a bit you lose the accelerator pedal until you restart. Codes are:

ECM-902A Communication with throttle unit - signal missing
ECM-903A Throttle position - signal missing
ECM-917F - Accelerator pedal position - faulty signal
ECM-959F - Accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor

If I mess with it enough I manage to trigger CEM-1A5D Communication with ETM module control signal missing

I've done the basics. Verified correct ohms and voltages on data link. I have also checked fuses and swapped the engine management relay. Verified voltage, ground, data links and signal/return to ETM. ETM also passes the test in VIDA. The biggest thing I seen was on the parameters ETM-Accelerator pedal, PWM (via etm) reads zero at all times.

Am I missing something or is it just a faulty ETM? It is a remanafactured XeMODeX unit which I have heard is almost bulletproof. I really don't want to guess with this particular wagon, it is a problem child at times

Did you check fuse 11B/8? It powers up the gas pedal and the AC compressor clutch. The AC comp clutch will short out and pop 11B/8. The car will be in serious limp mode and move very slowly. If 11B/8 is blown, unplug the AC compressor connector located down at the front of the compressor, below the steering pump area. The 11B/8 blown fuse will set the above codes.

I forgot to update this, turned out it was the ETM going out. I swapped it out with a new reman XeModex unit and problem went away. Hope this helps someone in the future
