Placed my order for Stage II upgrade, and uploaded my car's file to them this weekend. Should have it installed by the end of the week. Can't wait!
Was on the fence about it but since they're having the sale that sealed the deal for me.

Re: (craina)

I ran stage 2 without a downpipe for a year +. No issues, just reduces the spool up time of the turbo compared to stage 1. Scott Hart said stage 2 w/o a downpipe is equivalent to 90-95% of a stage 1 w/o a downpipe. If you can find it within yourself to sacrifice that 5-10% until you get a downpipe, then do it

SO,
Without a downpipe, stage 2:
-Reduces spool up time?
-Peak HP/Torque is 5-10% lower than Stage 1?
WITH a downpipe:
-Further reduces spool?
-Peak HP/Torque is 5-10% over that of S1?

Stage 1 allows faster spoolup because you have the restrictive downpipe in place. When you put stage 2 on with a stage 1 dp the reason it spools slower is beacuse stage 2 tune is for cars with dp, hence they'll spool much quicker. So if you have stage 1 on a car with dp then you'll get boost spikes, that's why stage 2 will spool a tad slower without dp than stage 1.

Ugh, to top off my exhaust fiasco, got an email from IPD today stating that the place they email the files to for tuning hasn't been getting their emails. May be upto 48 more hours hopefully. UGH why can't anything on this damned car go right?

Got the email from IPD this morning as well, this was 30 minutes after I called them Re: why my tune was taking so long to get to me (I have been waiting for 8 days). A little bit frustrated today...

Another thought that crossed my mind is this.....
If you can drive your car down there and they can flash your car and have it out the door in less than 1 hour that tells me that they have the tunes already and just need to load it and match it with your vin. I just cannot see anyone doing any custom work in that short timeframe.
So why if you have the softloader cable does it require the file be sent overseas? If the softloader tune is the same as the one they can do in person what is the difference? Besides overwriting some tables, and increasing boost....???
I am NOT bashing IPD, and please don't take this as a bash. Everyone vendor has hiccups at times.
I AM grateful to have a parts / service place that does cater to Volvo's.

I too am curious about the flash and how it can be turned around in such a short amount of time. Not that I am anywhere close to Portland. I am just kind of frustrated. I have been going to the mailbox like a little kid for the past week expecting my software to be there. I am very excited for this tune, hiccups like this are frustrating though. However, this is something I have become accustomed to with this car. Nothing ever goes smoothly at the service department, installing my Rkelly was a pain in the ass and involved a lot more cutting than I had bargained for (I dont spend much time underneath the hood, thought it was going to be much easier).
Sorry for the rant, I just wanna go FAST!!!

Aw that sucks. So you haven't even recieved your softloader yet? I wonder why, as the tune is emailed from what I understand.
After you get your softloader you still have to pull your car's data, email it back to IPD, who forwards it to MTE, then wait for MTE to send it back to IPD, then forward it to you?
Fortunately for me I was able to pick up the softloader from a local guy, used, but works fine for flashing the car.

I have the softloader already. I got my car's data with the softloader and emailed it to them 8 days ago and now they are telling me they havent even done anything with it yet... I am frustrated but I dont think there is really anything that I can do to speed up this process. The ball is in IPD's court right now and they are dropping it...

Good point. Just been a long, bad week as far as R mods go.
Now that i've cooled down a bit I didn't mean to sound so harsh toward IPD. But it is all fact.
I'm sure this is an isolated incident, but with me / IPD it's starting to seem like a trend.
