I'm doing a stage 0 prior to tuning my 2.5T AWD. Do I need to replace the whole ignition coil or just the boot? No issue buying the whole thing if I have to, but I figured I'd save some money if I can

Save your tow bill and some sweat equity. Get all five done, with new, gapped plugs.
Enjoy the five cylinder music for another LONG stretch.
Then, save them in a box labeled with mileage for spares if they are working OK and stow one or two by the spare...
The coils themselves are what tend to crack after enough time and use. Usually the boots aren't an issue.
