I'm finalizing my very simple boost gauge pod install and wanted to paint the pod to match the top of the dash which is a dark silver/gray. I checked with Xeno but he couldn't recall the color he used. Anyone stateside done this before and can help steer me in the right direction so I don't have to experiment with ten different bottles of spray paint?
TIA,
Derek

Go to a shop and have them "color eye" a flat surface. If you have a 04, the top of the cup holder would be a good one.

Hi bb,
I really do not have a color code.
I went to a local paint shop, and showed the door handle and he prepared me the paint.
After a few tries,he told me that the paint is ok.And when I returned to my garege, the result was so satisfied.
When I asked a few days later, the man told that he didn't remember the code, and prepared the paint with hi many years experience and eyes.
Sorry for not helping with this.
I don't think that you can find the perfect match by trying the spray paints.
This is a special work.

would it be a good idea to get a sunscreen for the windshield to help prevent the paint from crackin in the heat. or is it durable enough to last? looks awesome tho

Also has a lot to do with the color and number of coats of primer and base coat. I used a semi-matte clear coat on top of 3 coats of grey primer, 3 of the SEM as a base coat, and 3 matte clear. It's still a bit dark but over time has become less apparent. I can see the difference but many others can't because they're not looking for it.
The SEM bumper coat has the proper texture to match but I had to get a local body shop supply place do a custom blend to get really very close to the stock color. Took a couple tries for them to get close for my modified screen fascia.

Yeah, I forgot I did a bunch of other stuff too. Truck bed liner sprayed from about a foot and a half away gives a similar texture too and a matt clear coat (I think I used Krylon) finishes it off nicely.
