Volvo UK have now issued prices & specifications for the 2007 C70.
Although the prices are almost unchanged (apart from addition of the D5 (diesel)), a few of the specifications have. In particular the MY07 T5 and D5 models are listed as having a 'Rally Bar (Front Strut Stiffener)' fitted as standard. Can anyone please explain what this is?
I have an 06 C70 T5 Manual - maybe it has the Rally Bar but it was not previously listed in the specs? Should I be concerned? (Incidently I think the car is great - certainly powerful enough for most people, and after over 2500 miles of varied driving just a few niggles - rear view mirror to low, no space to rest clutch foot, window controls too far back on the drivers door, and that silly radio antennae!).
Other changes listed include a weight loss of about 70kg across the range, an AUX (iPod) input for the High Performance & Dynaudio systems (but not the standard one), and a new colour Barents Blue Peal (although I still prefer Magic Blue pearl).
Anyone aware of any other changes...?
(Non UK markets may be different of course.)
Thanks

Re: Specification changes for MY07 (cjr)

Another T5 manual owner in the UK! Perhaps the rally Bar goes some way in stopping the torque steer problem that is irritating. If so, I wonder if it is possible to retro fit it. Any dealer guys out there got any ideas?
The 70kg loss in weight is a bit odd, though? A strut brace would weigh in at the best part of 25kg, I would have thought.

Yes - there is a bar that runs between the top of the struts at the back of the engine bay - if that is what you refer to. My dealer said that it is just a safety feature to ensure the engine is pushed/kept down in the event of a head on collision. My sister has the same bar on her V50 diesel - so don't think that is the 'Rally Bar'....
T5 manual is the way to go - geartronic is slower, thirstier and more expensive..

Should be "racing bar" instead. And yes, that is the strut I mean. It's there to get a stiffer body = less roll.
