Spartanburg Carshow Pix (2009 Elite Summernationals)

Had a pretty good time at the car show. I didn't win any awards, nor did I expect to.
I had the only Volvo there. As good as the R looked, I simply could not compete with all of the automotive mayhem that was there, like crazy monster trucks, RX-8s with Corvette motors stuffed inside, $65K Roush Mustangs and a pristine 1932 MG roadster. But it was fun anyway, Here are a few pix from the show.

You can see all of the automotive madness here:
http://s221.photobucket.com/al...0show/

Modified by redalrt at 5:31 AM 8-9-2009

Modified by redalrt at 5:43 AM 8-9-2009

Modified by redalrt at 5:45 AM 8-9-2009

"No offense, but you need a drop, stat!"
Maybe, except for:
The negative camber drama, having to make sure its between .1 and .7 degrees or what ever it is) and the possibility of having to buy and install a kit @ $200 + labor to correct it.
A search yields tons of info about this and a lot of it is not good, not to mention reduced braking performance,
All of the above for looks? I don't think so.
..no offense taken

Modified by redalrt at 2:19 PM 8-9-2009

Modified by redalrt at 2:20 PM 8-9-2009

It's a nice clean wagon dude, looks good.
Just curious...did you get any comments or questions on what kind of Volvo it was? or people surprised that it was a volvo in general?

Re: Spartanburg Carshow Pix (TravZilla)

Thanks, it's damn near impo$$ible to get now. I responded to one being for sale (on this board, no less) at a price I couldn't refuse. Every speed bump and steep driveway apron is a threat now.

A few people stopped by. Being next to that '08 Roush Mustang likely had something to do with it. I had the sticker displayed on my car show stand. I explained how rare a manual transmission Volvo is to begin with. I explained the virtues of 4C to which the general reaction was "meh."
"Volvos, they're boxy but they're good" is probably irreversably etched into their brains.
The R was clean but pretty plain compared to some of the other stuff out there. Most people were probably there for the bling fest.

I may just be a lucky one though since i've read others aren't so lucky. EIther way, i'm glad i did it and it would help you out in the Auto X

Re: Spartanburg Carshow Pix (Ride R)

I also understand that there is also a loss in max cargo weight too.
If I were to do it, it would be with TME springs since I've read they have the mildest drop. I'm glad your springs are working for you.
