Flat crank V8s are OK, with I4s and bent-crank V8s. V10s, I5s and V6s do nothing for me.
Anyone have their favorites.

Re: Sound of Music (RearWheelPaul)

First choice, by far: Radial! http://jalopnik.com/383661/193...esome (never seen this in person, but it would be awesome!).
http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/...=4609
Second choice: Medium bypass afterburning turbofan.
Oh, production cars? I'll go w/your list, though a cross-crank V8 with a really radical "potato-idle" cam... sweet.

Edit... double "Oh." Now that I am home and can click the link. Hmm.... I'll still say the Radial.

Re: Sound of Music (RearWheelPaul)

Personally, I REALLY don't like the Flat 6 sound.
I agree that SOME I6's sound good. Old M3 for example.
I am a child of the Muscle Car era, so a big block V8 is tops.
However, I do like the shriek of the high revving Ferrari V8's.

A Radial?
Hmm, for me it would be a Rolls Royce Merlin.
