<A HREF="http://autos.canada.com/news/story.html?id=b09e34ab-a604-415c-913e-67b8d2e3f838" TARGET="_blank">http://autos.canada.com/news/s...3f838</A><p>It would be interesting to learn if the difference is due to tone, cylinder firing rate, or some related mechanical sound.<p>From my perspective, flat-6 (preferably air cooled) and inline six engines sound the best, followed by V12s. Flat crank V8s are OK, with I4s and bent-crank V8s. V10s, I5s and V6s do nothing for me.<p>Anyone have their favorites.

Personally, I REALLY don't like the Flat 6 sound.<br>I agree that SOME I6's sound good. Old M3 for example.<p>I am a child of the Muscle Car era, so a big block V8 is tops.<br>However, I do like the shriek of the high revving Ferrari V8's.
