... my first real mod . You have to walk before you can run. You all will find my mods are mostly home-brewed and almost always cosmetic. The R has plenty of power for me and I am more about style anyways ... I would rather leave the light slowly and let the S4 owner next to me keep wondering if I could have beat him .
Anyway, unlike Eric_H, my fav part of this whole short experience has been enjoying the aggressive looks the Ti Pegs give the car, but darned if everytime I wander back to the boot I wonder, "who stuck all this bright shiny chrome out here ???"
Well, I decided to take matters into my own hands and order the full set of rear badges so I could color match them to my beloved wheels. I am not really a fan of "Debadging" ... I paid for the damn "R", I want ppl to see it . The results, I think, are quite splendid, but I finshed at dusk. I was only able to get one good "teaser" shot until I can snap a few better ones in the sun tomorrow. That's cool. I really hate chrome personally, so the color match is awesome. I'm too lazy to take my badges off though. I wonder if I could mask really carefully and spray with the wheel paint. Better not I guess.

That looks great. I'm thinking that they might look good on my silver wagon....... Better contrast that the chrome....... Can you share how you painted them?

I pulled the clear carriers they have over them and set them aside in a clean area for use later.
I then trimed around each letter so that the backing paper was just left on the adhesive to protect it through the next steps (you can see a little of the backing paper in the last shot behind the "R").
I then sanded every little nook and cranny on every letter and number with 400 grit sandpaper. This step is really important and you MUST rough up all the shiny nickel for the paint to stick. Every little letter needs to be treated like it's own tiny piece of jewelry .
I then misted on one coat of self-etching primer, one coat of color, and one coat of extra tough clear made for use with wheel finishes. All this is available at your local Murray's, PepBoys, etc.
I then simply used some painters lo-tac tape to position the letters on, and re-applied the clear carriers over the top so that the emblems would go on straight.
I put painters lo-tac tape on my decklid at the bottom and sides of all the original chrome emblems so I would know exactly where to stick the new Titanium ones.
I then debadged my boot with dental floss, googone, and windex, ... reapplied the emblems, and waxed.
... and my wife thinx I'm nutz .
P.S. That and I found a place that will do custom instrument panels (aluminum with engraved lettering) that I'm itching to figure out a use for.
That looks awesome on the sonic blue. Are you gonna get rid of the rest of the chrome?

Thanx man ... disassembling the slash and the front "R" proved to be easy. It was getting the grill surround painted correctly that actually proved to be the most difficult part of the project .

I like your license plate frame where did you get it?
Also I'd love to see the lighted cupholder. That's something I'd love to have.
