Probably because the pictures are downsized too much. Nice V70R. I still think the R wagon is the best looking wagon around!

I'll apologize ahead of time if these expire. I'm still new at this picture stuff.

Re: Some Spring Pictures Updated (JRL)

I'm trying to find one I like. The carbon fiber one on the back is cool but it's a little expensive to get another. I'm also waiting for the local police to notice it covers up the state name- whoops.

Re: Some Spring Pictures Updated (Dashdog)

I purchased a smoke-tint polycarbonate cover at Target for $10. There is no frame - the cover cleanly wraps around the edges of the plate and dresses up the look a bit. This low-cost addition looks great on Titanium cars and I think it would also compliment silver quite well. I drove without my plate for several months until a cop flashed his lights and pointed at my naked bumper as he drove past. I live in a relatively small community and I don't want to take my chances.
Some states banned these covers as they have an adverse impact on radar guns.
- Tryg
EDIT: The car looks great! I am a big fan of Electric Silver on the V70R.

It's the same offense as having no plate- I know because I researched this to great length in search of a loophole to the front-plate requirement. I would just take it off (the front plate that is), but my wife drives the car more than me and insists it stay on.

Re: Some Spring Pictures Updated (Dashdog)

Careful what you say if stopped. If the cop can justify you knew it's illegal not to have the front plate on there, he/she can make it a non-fix it ticket. (In CA atleast)
Then you have to pay the larger fine, AND put the plate back on.
And in regards to the smoked covers/clear covers. The issue is not with radar, but more so with the red light camera systems that are popping up. The cover (clear or smoked) can make the numbers/letters hard to read when reviewing the violations in the system.
Tim

Keep the PEACE symbol. It helps lighten the "grumpy, stuck up" labels we carry driving Volvos.
