Re: Some nice pictures of my wagon (V50AWD)

Nice. I like how you took the T5 badge off the rear and moved it to the grill. How did you attach it there?
Tom.

Re: Some nice pictures of my wagon (tmtalpey)

I glued the letters on to a little piece of plastic that I then glued to the grille. It's as simple as that

Right now I only see 2 of the 5 images; the other 3 have been replaced with imageshack logos saying "This image removed due to high-bandwidth usage".
Anyways, those 2 that I can see look good except for those tail pipes; they stick out waay too much and it ruins the look . For a car that is so refined, those tail pipes are like a drop of oil in your hot bowl of soup, and that little drop ruins the soup.
I have always wanted to use that analogy; couldn't resist .

I think the tailpipes are good looking - it's the perspective that makes them look a little long. I'm sure most people don't crawl around on the ground and look up at your car but from a different perspective, a more normal viewing perspective, I'm guessing they look good.
What you have is very impressive - very cool. Is it #477 Electric Silver Metallic paint?

Thanks!
The tailpipes stick out less when they have cooled down. Thinking about cutting them at an anlge so they follow the shape of the rear valance better. But I have heard its difficult to saw through stainless steel and make it look nice.
And my car has the regular silver metallic paint.

What do you use on your tires? I currently use Armor All wipes to give it that semi-gloss black look that you currently have in the pics. I don't like using tire dressing as it leaves the tires looking completely oily and shiny and I'm not a fan of that.

That is one really nice V50 I've been wanting to add the T-5 badge to my grill for ages, just too scared to pay $30 (£17) for the T5 badge

Both give about the same type of shine.

Looks great. I'm into the black Heico grille so I'd probably add that but I think it looks killer. Oh, someone mentioned adding R badges....I wouldn't do it. It's like adding an ///M badge to a non-M BMW. Each to his own but in my mind...pure cheeze.

very nice pics! Your front brake calipers look a lot different than the one's on my S40 T5. are the AWD's different?
here's mine...

Those are the so-called "16 inch" brakes. In the US, T5 AWDs get the 16.5's, elsewhere these are installed.
Tom.

Re: Some nice pictures of my wagon (V50AWD)

I agree the car looks great but the tailpipes really take away from the cleaness of the car. I cut off about 3" from my Evolve tailpipes so that they are about (maybe even a tad tucked under) even with the bumper. I have expierenced no burning or paint problems on the bumper from the exhaust heat/fumes from doing this. It madethe car look sooo much better.

I like the tail pipes. You should have flames coming out of them though. No seriously, I don't think they look so bad.
