hi all,

since i got my FMIC installed, i have been having the following issues:

1- the car doesn't idle properly
2- throttle response is a bit low
3- the car sometimes stalls, or almost, while driving

i have changed the piping so many times; worthless.

i also have an issue that the car runs so rich since i dropped the CAT.

any hints on how to solve these?

Sounds like one of your hoses is loose/has a leak...

i made sure of the piping zillion times..
can the FMIC has a leak itself?

Anything is possible.

What kind of FMIC? W/ my phMIC, the clamp that attached to the plastic pipe leading to the TB crimped it, so even though it looked fine and was tight, the crimp caused a pretty substantial leak.

my FMIC was manufactured locally..
how to make sure its not leaking??

If everything is installed correctly, it should run as it did before (only a bit faster)!

When you removed the CAT, did you also remove the O2 sensor? If it's missing that will throw off the A/F computation.

Seems pretty easy... a tuned R with a BOV, how did you expect it to run?

For a car that's supposed to recirculate, it would.

...but at IDLE? I know it's a closed system and the released air is supposed to be vented back into the system post MAF, but this shouldn't make a difference at idle, as you are not venting any measured air to the atmosphere at that time.

It would cause the car to run *rich* if anything, no?

*edit* Just saw the OP's mention of running 'rich' w/ the cat removed...

when i dropped the CAT, i had the sensor plugged into the pipe.

Is it an HKS LOOK ALIKE BOV?

Is the vaccum line tapped in the right place?

Is it stuck open?

If YES to any of thoes issues....that may cause a problem at idle, and driving.

I've seen a Fake/crappy HKS knockoff before.

Did you have the BOV before the FMIC intercooler was installed?

i had the installed with FMIC at once.
can i shut it off in place?

You NEVER do that. You do one major mod at a time, that way if something's amiss, you know exactly where to look.
These cars do not need BOV's (except for sound)
