Please sticky for others interested.
Dealer is going to tell you that the SW does not exist but it does, listed under Low beam application 2.
I have an 06 halogen bulb S40 and am attempting to remove my DRL's today. I want position 0 to have no lights on, position 1 park lights, and 2 low beams on.
I found 3 Low beam application numbers and parts cant verify which ones do which.
I believe application 2 part number 30679690 sounds like the one i need but wanted to verify.
If anyone has done this can you check your invoice and verify the software number used. Re: Software part number for removal of DRL daytime running lights. (ForceFed Motorsports)

i brought my s40 to the dealer, they said there they had to reprogram it.
im not sure if its something they do by flashing or playing with the radio dials or even the fuse box.
they wouldnt tell me how... guess they're scared of losing business lol...
but im going to research some sites and see if i can finally find out how as well.

Re: Software part number for removal of DRL daytime running lights. (mad matt)

Ill check it out. I think its the part number that i listed. I may just try it and see what it does. If it works ill of course let everyone know. Most volvos car be reprogrammed by going into vehicle communication and changing the light settings however the S40 doesnt allow you to without SW. Unfortunately the information regarding what each SW does is very limited.

Most dealers will do a half hour shop charge. Even though it takes a whole 5 minutes lol.

Re: (Munin)

Yeah most think that as well. But then again i probably do about 2 hours worth of free stuff for customers a day... so stuff like this barely makes up for it. A techs ability to beat flat rate is the only way we make money because we are poorly underpaid but thats another topic for discussion.
Also most shops have a minimum shop charge of a half hour for anything so really depends on the dealer.

Feel free to post to it, if you have new info. Can you verify that this part number applies the appropriate fix for all years and all S40/V50 cars?
Tom.

Search the form for a member that had his car totaled because some pickup driver forgot to put on his headlights on and he turned in front of him.
If the truck had DRL probably no accident. If dealer had disconnected the DRL then big lawsuit.

Sorry but you cant blame others stupidity on removing some light bulb features.
As far as the SW it should work for all years however have not tested it on a car with xenons yet. Will keep ya posted next time a customer comes in with this request.

Yes exactly, if its Federal law then obviously removing the DRL's isnt a good idea however in the US its not so whether someone chooses to remove them or not its their choice.

Hey Forcefed, is it possible for position 0 to be just the city lights? The little lights in the high beam slot? If so, can I come down to Bellingham to get this done
