Wife and father in law are fine, Camry that my wife hit is very much totaled (driver was ok too). Other lady blew a stop sign crossing the highway and got t-boned by our Volvo. Car did its job…sigh
$8k-$12k (W.A.G.)So anyone wanna guess what it’s gonna cost to fix?
And some portion of the extended warranty prorated refund. 🤷♂️Hood, bumper cover, headlights on an 88k mile, 6 year-old car is a total unfortunately.
Silver lining, at least you don't have to address the brakes now.
Glad your family is okay!
While obviously the smaller cousin, I recently landed my wife in a GV70 and she absolutely loves it. If she needs the bigger space it won't work, but if she doesn't it's really worth a look. And a 2yr certified can be had for 40k'ish. And, surprisingly, the 2.5T is better than acceptable (the 3.5T is a blast, but really not necessary unless you gotta).Lol with the PS brakes she probably would’ve been rear-ended.
GV80 is really nice, especially that green/brown interior. But to get one properly specced would be close to $80k,
No, sorry. Have owned a couple of Hyundais, including well spec'd ones. Current generation Genesis is truly on another level. I dare say every manufacturer should be scared of what they're doing. No, it's not perfect, but dollar-for-dollar bang for the buck is off the charts compared to anyone else.and still driving a fancy Hyundai.
Should have clarified my comments. Genesis makes a really nice vehicle for the price. The problem lies with the dealer network and Hyundai/Kia as a whole. I personally know 3 people with Hyundai/Kia vehicles that have had catastrophic failures (couple engine, forgot the other) that were supposed to be covered under warranty. Without getting into specifics, all were given ridiculous runarounds combined with constant SA turnover and threats of huge labor bill just to disassemble and check if engine was covered. All just decided to part with their vehicle and take a big loss (trade in, repo, etc) because they couldn’t afford the process Hyundai was putting them through. While obviously the smaller cousin, I recently landed my wife in a GV70 and she absolutely loves it. Not sparring, just my experience.
ps - Glad to hear the XC is repairable and, more importantly, no body was hurt. Still sucks, though.
