Well..I was driving my uncle's '96 850 in Taiwan and noticed immediately that the steering wheel is about the same size as the 70 series'...I don't know the part numbers and all, but does anyone know whether they should fit on 850s in the US?
I'd loooove to get one of those!

Would the guages still be visible? Smaller steering wheel could maybe make the car seem more responsive. Never seen that though... did it still have an airbag?

Yup..it looks and feels exactly the same as the current 70 series, it was all black with leather wrapping.

Does anyone know where to check for part numbers? maybe at volvo headquarter's site?

There was someone selling the 70 series one on eBay once...

Maybe hunt down a 70 series one with black int. from some junkyard?

where can I find detailed specs about these kinda stuff?
mebbe I'll call up the dealer and see what they *don't* know...

i wonder why nobody else has interest in getting smaller steering wheels for their 850s...am i just too anal??

I think they're also in 960s and V90s. I was lookign into it when we still owned our 854R. That's about as far as I got.
