Time for an update. We tracked our XC90 for a Brunswick arrival on July 3. It cleared Customs by July 6th. (Holiday and all!!!) We called the Customs agent and she called the trucking company for us. The car arrived at the Winter Park, Florida Volvo Store on July 10. We were able to pick it up on July 12.
We picked it up today at 2:00 pm. Horrrrray Beer!!!
During the delivery inspection at the dealership, we noticed a very, very small dent or ripple on the right front quarter panel. We were given a form to file a claim to get it resolved. Not sure what that is going to entail. Anyone ever have this happen before?
Carl Braun, the OSD guy at the Winter Park store has just been fantastic. Very nice and very helpful!!
While we were at the store, I could not help but sit in an S60. Hmmmmm... I think that next year I may need to try the S60 on a Sweden, Norway, Germany trip!!
Whole experience was about the best I have ever had. Yes, we are definitely hooked on OSD

The S60 is a fantastic car and it drives beautifully in snow, ice, rain and shiny days (we got all four during our OSD trip). The only thing that might be able to top it would be an S60R...
Congrats on your XC90 and wish you a happy resolution on your damage.

Re: Slight damage to car upon delivery (Ameriswede)

Congratulations on your OSD trip and new XC90. Taking delivery of your car here in the States can be exciting and strange (in a good way). I remember being relieved the car made it to its new home safe and sound- kind of like bringing a baby home from the hospital. I know your baby has a little dent, but I'm sure it will be fixed and good as new in short order.
Another experience I thought was intersting was driving around the very familiar roads in my neighborhood with a car I learned to drive in a completely different environment. It's hard to explain. Perhaps my fond memories of driving our car through Sweden were getting jumbled by now driving the same car through the crazy streets of LA.
There were a lot of XC90's being delivered on our OSD trip last August. Funny thing- while we were taking delivery of our S60R I was wondering what it would be like to drive an XC90 around Sweden. Maybe next time we can trade cars for a day.
Congrats, good luck and happy + safe driving!
06 S60R
03 325ci
