Hi all,

going to replace clutch and will replace the sleeve to even if it has not failed and it was replaced once already with a 31256008. For the cost of the sleeve I think it is worth replacing anyway.

Now the issue is that I'm getting multiple part numbers and not sure what the diff is. I got an 04 manual.

31256246 service kit $135.52:
  • 977101 Snap Ring $1.36
  • 31256008 Sleeve $86.32
  • 976041 O-Ring $3.62 (for 31256246)
  • 9143911 Sealing Ring $12.25 (60x75x8)

30787988 service kit $135.52:
  • 8636196 Snap Ring $12.25
  • 9495034 Sleeve $86.32
  • 8636195 Drive shaft seal $12.25 (O.DIA 43mm)
  • 8636194 Sealing Ring $12.25 (O.DIA 75mm)

There are also these two that are the same:
  • 1161748 Grease, Splines Joint (for 31256246)
  • 987985 Flange Screw $1.84 (for 31256246) x5

I'm running now the first one. Is the second one better?
Why are all the other part numbers different?
Where is the flange screw used and why I'm getting from some sources that I need one and from some that I need 5?

Thanks

31256008 is manual, 9495034 is automatic. The angle gears themselves are common between the trans choices, but the output from the trans is different, so the sleeves are different.
