Slave cylinder; are you a member of the fail free club [+ simple stats for reported failures]???

With all the slave cylinder failures that have been going on lately, I'd like to get an idea of those of us lucky enough to be on an original slave cyl and see who actually has high miles on theirs without failure.
If you are on your original, post up your mileage year of sR/vR.
Report failures in failure thread: http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=119165
my '05 SR 59,500 miles
.
.
.
________current high mileage fail free leader board______________
SR --> wilhelmscream '04 94,000
VR --> FastWgn '04 72,000
_______________________________________________
Longest Life active or dead slaves: SR & VR
rogersampson: 125,000 miles before his gave out, '05VR
s60r1: 98,000 miles on his leaking dying slave, '04 SR
----------------------- non R ---------------------------
109,000 miles for bender's 2002 s60t5 when it died
125,000 miles for neils car, but failed to report year or model when slave failed.
_______________________________________________
Avg life of those that have failed: are you running on borrowed time??? This poll actually has a lot of statistical value i.e failed vs healthy in a relatively large group. Please vote

And just to add some flavor to the discussion, do slave cyls fail earlier in Rs?
what is the public's opinion on this wild train of thought
R-> massive brakes + "spirited" drivers -> higher than average brake fluid system pressure + temperature -> fluid breakdown / crud forming -> slave failure
rogersampson where are thou?
Shameless plug: if you have had failure, please leave a comment

Fail free at 58K. Now that I voted I guess I should set up my appointment so at least the parts are in stock.

Re: (I Roll)

DONT DO IT!!!!
Any admission that your slave cylinder is fail-free will almost certainly cause it to fail. I replace mine every night before bed, beucase it fails constantly. 75k miles.

My original is on its last legs, leaking fluid and such. But it also lasted ~98k miles.

Re: (S60R1)

My 04S60R had it's cylinder replaced with clutch just before I bought it, so around 83000KM (~51000 miles).

Fail free at 35K miles; though Keystone replaced the original slave when the new clutch damper was installed last year.

Quote, originally posted by hoagrod »

Ford F-150's don't have slave cylinders that go bad. 82,000 miles. I can only vouch for the car since 50k though. is it worth it to try and track that down through volvo?

I have a 06 V70R with 34K miles and have not had a problem yet. What I would like to know is out of the cars with failed slave cylinders how many of you have flushed the or bled the clutch cylinder? I just did mine as a precaution; I'm of the opinion that if you flush at least yearly that would increase the lifespan of the slave.
Denny
