Slater has his sway bar end links out...

VERY VERY impressive! He has had P1 car links out for a while and new P2 links look just incredibly beefy.

$335 aint cheap, but I really think he has built a great product. I just can't see how the stock end links work right/effectively transfer the stresses from the upgraded sway bars I put on!

For those that know the mechanics of end links, do you believe that, IN THEORY, the end-links can be causing the side-hop of the P2 R cars? According to the link in this thread, their end-link is MULTIPLE times stronger than stock. If one were to install fronts & rears on the R cars, would it in theory prevent the deflection of said links and possible solve the hop problems as well as enhance the entire steering/driving experience?

No because if you drive the car with the 4C disabled, the car behaves normally.

Interesting theory....I just can't see how the REALLY beefy track spec IPD sways I installed can be all that effective with those wussy assed stock endlinks.. I mean, the IPD sways are HUGE and really still and the stock ones are, well, really really puny!

I think I'm gonna pony up the $335 and try them out...

I have the IPD track sways and their HD endlinks (as well as Eibach springs).
Side hop is still there, but only disturbing in Comfort, just negligible in Sport and almost not discernable in Advanced.
It is truely a software issue, but these hardware improvements (installed for other reasons) made a huge difference.

I like that the Slater links are adjustable. Would have gotten them over the IPD.

Slaters endlinks are by far one of the best mods you can do for the money. There is nothing out there that will compare to the quality and customer service that follows the purchase.

The stock links or anti-sway bar rods wear fast. Specailly if you live in an area with bad roads. Volvo will simply replace them under warranty time and again until warranty runs out. After that it is the customer who can pay for the repair of this very bad quality part with an average lifespan of less that 20K miles. Keep in mind that the least play will cause unwanted noises in the suspension.

Slaters links are much stronger and should last a lot longer.
Many of the 850 and X70 classic folks have been using them for some time now and all are extremely happy with them. The front links of an 850 are similar to the ones used on the R's front suspension. The 850 doesn't use these links in the rear.

For gains there isn't that much to be expected from this upgrade. With a stock anti-sway bar and a lowered suspension you could influence the preload on the vulcanized sway bar bushings. With an aftermarket anti-sway bar there isn't load on the bushings. For some type's of autosport you could preload the bar but not for average street use.

I think IPD sells these endlinks for 63.00 USD for the pair. I just ordered the track spec sways and ponied up for the better end links. 335.00 sounds really high if this is the same component (or similar) to the IPD option. I could be wrong.

Saw the iPD links, they appear more solid than the stock ones but they are not adjustable and basically a completely different setup.

Remember, IPD started their company as a swaybar manufacture.
The adjust ability won't be of as much use to most users.

[email protected] won't do much for your car...YES they will. Think about it this way, they stock antisways are only as good as the endlinks they are connected to. So if your endlinks are flexing what good does the sway do? The answer is it doesn't function like it should. You will see HUGE improvement in handling just after these endlinks. Feels like a different car.
