Well there a couple things going for them...
If you're kind of early on in the car's life and put in the silicon, you should never need to replace them again. They hold up very well as they are very heat resistant. Also, if you have a tuned hi-performance system, they are definitely worth it.
I replaced the vacuum lines of my stock 00 V70XC just do they don't need replacing again. The increased wall width of the tubing also allows it to hold better vacuum, which may lead to minuscule performance benefits.
I don't plan on doing the radiator lines as they do cost a lot, and the cheapo hoses do just fine.
Thanks ecbsykes. That helps. I guess I'll wait until they start to fail, then replace with the silicone.
They look so great though!
Yea, I got mine from StylinMotors. Given the offer of red, black, or blue, I went with a nice blue to make it seem a little more interesting!
