On the left side-view mirror the safety light (on the underside of the unit) has popped-out. It wasn't banged or played with -- it did it all on its own. I've tried all manner of fiddling to get it back in there and secured, but there it is, still hanging by its power cable. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions for getting it to snap back in, or maybe something to hold it in there that will also allow me to get it out if the bulb needs changing?

My car is still under warranty, but I totally dread making a trip to the dealer just for this little problem. However I know it won't take long for water and stuff to work their way up in there and maybe ruin the entire unit.

If the dealer isn't that far out of the way just take it to them, that way if anything gets broken putting it back in they have to replace it.

It isn't that hard to do, but some of the stuff is kind of breakable. Good luck!

My driver side puddle light has fallen out twice since 2005. One time, it fell out while i was driving on the highway and it was flying all around smacking the side of my car. I was afraid of it denting my door and chipping the paint, so I opened my window and held it in place until I got home. As far back as I normally sit, it was probably one of the most dangerous drives home I have ever had.

Called the dealer today and was told this is a warranty item. Having it fixed tomorrow. Bleh. Thanks for the input, guys.
