Well, my wife was backing out of the garage and forgot my car was parked in the driveway. As she backed out, she ended up scraping the side of my car. The car will need body work, but it's not too bad. It did scuff up the driver and driver's side rear passenger door moldings.
On my car - which is an 04 - I had my moldings sanded/painted. For reasons I don't have time to go itno - I"m not going back to the body shop that did that work.
When my car gets repaired - I am thinking I should tell them to order 05 moldings - as they might be easier to paint. the 04 moldings had a rough texture to them, that the body shop had to sand down smooth. so to replace my moldings - should I get 04 moldings and have the same process done..... OR will 05 moldings - painted to match, look identical to the 04 moldings on my car.
they will have to replace both door modlings..the driver door and the rear passenger door...so even if the moldings look *slightly* different than the passenger side..i don't think it would be noticeable... not unless you ran back and forth from driver to passenger side and didn't blink..
any suggestions? thanks.
oh..my wife felt REALLY bad....after I beat her up. Boy she'll never do that again! ha ha.. seriously, i felt sorry for her. she really felt bad that she dented my "baby"....but it's totally fixable...so no big deal. I just want to make sure I do the moldings right.

Re: Side Molding Question (23109VC)

Sorry for your troubles. I can only imagine how my wife would feel if she hit my car.
I think the conventional wisdom is to get the '05 smooth moldings for the doors and have them painted- they are the same shape as the '04s. I have been looking into this for my R- painted moldings look really nice on a silver car.

If I remember correctly the 05+ mouldings come pre-painted.
