within the next few months, i plan to begin shopping for a '98 v70 cross country. i'd like to arm myself with as much information as possible.<P>does anyone have any info to pass on regarding trouble spots to watch out for? whether any minor changes between '98 and '00 make the later models better or a better buy?<P>any info u can provide is appreciated!

I think one of the biggest trouble spots is the braking system....warped rotors and the electronic control module for the braking system. To test for warped rotors, take the XC up to highway speeds and do some brisk braking and see if you feel any bad vibrations or shuddering. There's really no way to test the control module, check the records of the car to see if there has been any problems with the braking system or if the control module has been replaced.
