I'm so bummed out. A CD is stuck in my R's CD player and Volvo service says that it has to be sent out for replacement. They say it's likely a circuitry problem that's somewhat common on Rs that have Sirius (my '04 does not).
It'll cost up to $600 for a replacement unit, I'm out of work and the extended warranty ran out 12 days ago.
Any ideas as to what I might do?

press eject - while you hear the changer trying to work, slide a different CD into the unit about halfway - then back out again.
Works like a charm everytime.

Glad you got it out!
For what it is worth, the CD changer knows nothing about the existence of Sirius.

Actually, Roger, they said the problem is attributable to water leaking in at the site of the antenna on the roof which which causes problems at the radio/CD player inside the car.
Just reporting what they said they've seen several times already.
Thanks

If there is water ingress, and it is finding its way into the underdash wiring, I would be worried about more than the head unit!
Glad to hear you do not have one of these dealer installs!
