My V50 has just had a service and now the ECC is pumping out hot air more than it should (or used to). Garage claim not to have done anything that would cause this but two settings in my menu set-up preferences have changed. One is for the radio, the other is that the ECC blower speed is set to medium whereas it was set to low. Is this a clue that they have reset something?

Perhaps if they disconnected the battery the car reverted to factory settings? I don't know if it works like that, it's just an idea. Were your trip odometers cleared out and your clock messed up?

Re: Service, ECC and computer reset (Tim)

The climate control usually needs to be recalibrated after software updates to these cars. Inexplicably, dealers more often than not overlook this step, or aren't even aware of it (we all are, so why can't they be)? Here's an old thread (among others on the subject) that discusses the issue. Go back to your shop and tell them they need to recalibrate your climate control.

Re: Service, ECC and computer reset (mullmann)

Thanks for the replies guys. The clock was OK and the odometer trips were reset (as part of the service?).
The dealership says they didn't do a software update.
I did find an old thread on running the ECC on 'Hi' for awhile and this seems to have cured it (based on one test drive). I'll see how it goes.
