OK, so I come from a BMW background and very few parts I buy for my BMW say "made in Japan" on them.

In this particular kit, I got from Tasca Auto Group for my V8, the belt, the idler pully roller bearing and the belt tensioner all say "made in Japan" ...!

My other cars are Hondas and I normally have no objection to anything automotive coming from Japan. This just surprised me ... My Volvo Penta boat parts all say made in Sweden, Germany or USA on them.

Are these parts legit? Or should I buy someplace else?

Weren't the V8 engines originally built or at least assembled in Japan, by Yamaha? Perhaps these parts, too, were essentially made by Yamaha for Volvo.

Ah! Excellent point. My whole reason for opting for the V8 engine was BECAUSE it was made by Yamaha!

Thanks for reminding me.
