This topic was brought couple of times before...
I wonder if we should have another meeting again some time in September. I doubt we'll be able to get enough people to do something like what VCNA had been doing in NJ. But I was hoping if we can make this September one more official..and hopefully with more participants.
That's why I'm thinking if we can do some more serious planning before hand...so it would be a rather serious Volvo get together for the East coast bricksters.
I am open for pretty much any location around this area. This past weekend company picnic at Black Hill Park went pretty well. Lots parking spaces, good views, and some decent roads. Or maybe we can do something in VA....heck I will even drive up to NJ area if we got more people from there.
George, are you still game for a trip to Martin Motorsports one of these days? I hope I won't be free this Saturday....hehehe which means I will be busy picking up my car~! Yeah, just let me know...we can get few more people to come along.

Yeah..BTW, how about the Swedespeed stickers? I wouldn't mind if it can cost few bucks for it.
Lots people have been asking for that, George. Something like 2X12" would be ideal for rear side window.

I'm up for a meeting sometime in September, preferably in the MD/VA area. The Saturdays in September are 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29.
I think 6"x1" would be better for the stickers. The ones made for VWvortex and sold by gezuvor were 6x1, and they were only $2 per pair. There's also a guy on the Badbricks mailing list that has a site where he sells decals (www.locustom.com), so that's another possible source in case George hasn't already chosen someone to produce the decals.

All,
I'm game for a GTG as well. Seems like the past few times we only had a few people show up though. It would be nice to have something a little larger happen. I am willing to go as far as NY City if need be. Don't get me wrong, I think the local group is great. I just have the desire to meet more Volvo people and what-not. I will try my best to help promote the GTG but I am very limited in time. Also, stickers...how about both sizes? Maybe even a few plate frames would be cool.
Prospero
Stickers will come first. I'll go smaller in the first run, and larger in the next. I could even do windshield top ones if peopel really want it.

On the show, I am looking at my schedule and the only free weekends I have, between the Frankfurt Auto show and weddings) is the first weekend (too early)or the 22nd, and that's the weekend to my 30th birthday (and I bet I'd catch heck as my wife is probably planning something with my family). So, if we back it up to Oct, again more weddings and shows to cover, I am open Oct 27/28. I'm sorry I am so inaccessible. An afternoon GTG is different than a show, and I want to make sure I have the whole weekend to devote.
Here's what I suggest. Lets do this in the DC area, or possibly the PA area (Hershey is a great place, and I may have some connection there, not to mention closer for the Canadians who might consider coming down). I can also push Volvo to see if we can get some involvement from them, or at least a dealer to take part. I bet I could get Annapolis Volvo and possibly Martens to take part if we do it here in DC.
We'd also want to talk to VCNA and VSA about participation, and there's a DC area Volvo owner's club also.
If we want to do this larger guys, larger than a GTG, I think I'll need some logistics help. If we do it here in DC, we could go towards Annapolis, or I can get rates on the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, Black Hill Regional Park etc.

George,
If you can get the stickers made before the larger scale Volvo show we are planning to do, it would be great.
I totally agree with you on the difference btwn the afternoon GTG and a decent scale Volvo show. Just let us know what sort of help you would need. I will be more than happy to lend a hand.
I do think a mid-Octobor time frame is reasonable..granted that we still have to do all these preparation beforehand.
But I still wouldn't mind if a few of the DC metro area guys would like to do another afternoon GTG before this show. I like the Black Hill Regional Park setup. If we can spread the words a lot earlier and get the NJ and NY to come..that'll be even better. Or just any Volvo nuts..from Canada? Sean?
Funny thing is, last time someone posted about our Sugarloaf GTG on BB first, but then..it was linked back to Swedespeed under the official VCOA's Events Calendar on BB.
I think we do carry some weight here....
Like you said, let's get some dealers to participate...and the local old school Volvo guys, maybe even some official VCNA people.
Do you want me to test the water a bit on other sites? Or if any of us with better relationship with other sites can help, too...hehehe...I doubt I'm all that popular to speak for Swedespeed.
Let's see~!

IF you guys want to post on other sites, please by all means go right ahead. I don't like going onto other sites and advertising ours, just don't think it's polite for me to do, and I'm not a regular on the other boards. If y'all want to do so though, I'm sure it'd help attendance.
