Hi everybody,
I am considering buying a 2006 V50 T5 AWD, manual transmission, with premium and climate packages in Silver Metallic. I would have to order the car because the dealer doesn't stock any manual transmission cars. I guess they are unpopular here. The dealer is offering this car for $29,725. Is this a very good deal?
Also, can someone comment on the AC? I live in Texas where temperatures can reach over 100 degrees for several days in a row.
Any other comments on this vehicle would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
CS

Well, if you have to order it anyway, why not look at Overseas Delivery, you get a better price and a FREE TRIP TO EUROPE! The savings are substantial in my book. You can see the price list over at the OSD forum. I am up in Amarillo (the real North Texas), so Howdy neighbor!
MichaelD.

I bought a black '05 V50 awd T5 6 speed manual in April '05. Love the car! Loads of power, great mileage way; over 30 m.p.g on the highway, great seats. 10,000 miles and not ahitch with the exception of the radio glitch that has been mentioned many times in this forum ( I have the standard sound not premium). Temps in NYC in summer routinely reach way into the 90s (F.) with high humidity and the a/c is fine-more than adequate. Paid about 28K for the car.Get one you'll love it. I had 2 Subaru Outbacks before this vehicle no comparison-Volvo beats Subaru! The V50 just outclasses the Subarus in the feeling of quality.

Hey I had to order my silver s40 too because I wanted the 6spd. Anyway I have had my car for almost 2 months now and I love it. I'm not sure how the AC is yet (little cold for AC in CT still) That price seems pretty good.
-Jason

Thanks! I'm really glad I found this forum.
I considered the Overseas Delivery, too. I really want to go to Sweden. But we'd have to wait twice as long to get the car overseas, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to travel that far when it's ready (baby on the way).
I was surprised to hear about the mileage. That good, huh?
We, too, are considering an Outback. Unfortunately, I like the Volvo, but my husband likes the Outback better.
Thanks all, and keep the info coming!
CS

I think the Outback XT 5 speed is quicker but not as refined in the fit, finish, or "personality" categories. It might be a bit more reliable but life is short!
2006 V50 T5 AWD 6 Sp. -- OSD Gotenburg 6/06

The interior is still not as nice as the V50's but performance wise the Legacy lineup will walk all over the S40/V50.
