Well, after the weekend temps reaching into the lower 70's, my mind is definitely jumping ahead a season.

Please IM me with ideas for a 1/2 day or a full-day drive. I am aiming for a weekend day. I'm pretty open on the day ( I will be in Norway the last week in July).

A couple of ideas that we discussed during the last GTG at Barrier Volvo (which was excellent!):
Rt. 2 over Stevens Pass to Leavenworth
Northern Cascade Loop (beautiful drive)
Chuckanut Drive in the Bellingham area.
Drive to Port Townsend and ferry back via Deception Pass. Just think how cool it would be to have 10-20 R's on a ferry!

For any R's coming from Vancouver area, I'm thinking it might be nice to pick a place north of Seattle ( of course, anyone potentially come from Olympia - Frank! - or Portland this might not be the best)

Let's get the ball rolling on planning this.

Cheers!!

Re: Seattle/Pacific NW summer drive GTG (flybynight)

Hmm, wonder if I can get on the ferry without bottoming out.

My friend Jim always talks about wanting to go on the North Cascades highway. I'm sure he would love to come along with.

Frank, I don't think getting on the ferry would be an issue. I've seen lower cars that Evolve-kitted or factory kitted R's getting on.
Of course, sloooowly is they key.

It is basically a fake Bavarian town, but, yes, it is a nice drive.
An even nice drive is the North Cascade drive, which is Rt 20.
I bet you ate at a German eatery

WA state is filled with beautiful drives. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif
