Hi
Anyone have advice on repairing scratches and small gouges on the plastic bumpers? The car is black saffire so the bumper is black and the plastic underneath is black. Can this just be buffed out or is it more involved?
Thanks, in Advanced.
2004 S60R GT w IPD Springs / Rear Sway

Re: Scratched Bumper. (nevolvo)

Can you take a pic and post so we can see how bad it is?
Regardless, I had good luck with this product when I repaired a couple of chips on my font-end - not sure why it wouldn't work for a bumper gouge:
http://www.langka.com/complete....html
Alternatively, this is a good "How-To" article:
http://www.bettercarcare.com/a...Id=27
Good luck!
Regards,
Derek
If the scratch has not gone completely though the paint, it may be able to be buffed out (hard to say without pics).
Just gouges (that don't go all the way through the cover) CAN be patched with the right material, but will require a professional respray.
If the cover is torn, ripped, or cracked all the way through, I would recommend replacement. Most attempted repairs to this type of damage are not overly durable and after good money spent will just end up looking like poo again soon.

Re: Scratched Bumper. (Quick Brick)

if scratch is deep clean out and then fill with a little bit of filler.
Then... Simply tape off the sides parallel to the scratch (i.e. small mask made from painters tape) and cover up with touch up paint and clear coat. easy as pie.
BTW there are diagrams of this technique in the owenrs manual.
