Found out this morning that someone keyed my car in the last couple of days. Two panels on the right side are nicely dug into
I could have been random maliciousness, but you never know what can happen when you're in the middle of a nasty divorce
Anyway, I'll do a little compounding when I have a chance to see how much I can hide it. My understanding is that electric silver is very hard to match. Anyone have experience with repainting that color? What's the cost at lease end if I don't do anything with it?

That sucks.

Perhaps one of those fill in pens from the TV infomercials will do the trick.

If you do fix it,you will have to repaint the entire side of the car to get it to match properly. Figure $1500-2000.

Ouch! Will the leasing company require that much work when I turn it in?

Aw man - that $UCKS!!!
So sorry to hear it.

a good body shop should be able to match the color but panel panel will need to be painted & clear coated in order to match the finish so it will likely be a bit expensive.

If you leased through VCNA, they cover $1500 in damages through WearGuard.

Very sorry to here this.

Could you not put this thru insurance? If you have not had any claims recently they might give you a pass on the rate hike.

At least in Florida, comprehensive insurance will pay for it (as vandalism). It is likely NOT to increase the rates.

Dunno what the lease co will charge.
If its a VFNA lease Wearcare should cover all or most of it.

Are you sure about that? I believe VFNA covers up to $1000 through the Wear Care as long as no one source of damage exceeds $500 (per panel?).
Being that his car is an '08 it probably was not leased through VFNA.

yes, that is correct. I don't know what VFNA would charge per panel. which is why there is a qualifier there.

Correct.

I may think about my comp insurance, but I'm going to attempt to buff it a little first. I hate to file any claim at all if the cost is minor.
